MIAMI, Fla. (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis said he is “willing” to send Florida personnel to the southern border to help build the wall.

“I’ve always supported the wall just because it’s such a big border, you can have Border Patrol, you never will be able to have enough,” DeSantis said.

The governor slammed the Biden administration for “cartels running the show” at the border, bringing “massive amounts” of fentanyl into the U.S.

“If Biden wants to get serious about that, you know, give me a call,” the governor said.

DeSantis noted the damage Hurricane Ian caused in southwest Florid that knocked out two bridges. Under DeSantis’ leadership, crews promptly restored both bridges within three weeks.

“I raised that only because I’m willing to send our Florida guys down to the border and get them building the wall,” DeSantis said. “And they will do it very quickly. So just let me know, we’ll do it.”

Title 42, which allows the U.S. to quickly expel migrants at the border, ends this week. The regulation was put in place in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

DeSantis said there is going to be a “massive disaster” this week with the end of Title 42.

Attorney General Ashley Moody has long railed against President Joe Biden for the influx of migrants and fentanyl across the border. She warned “pandemonium” would ensue if Title 42 expired.

“Through litigation, over the last two years since Biden took office, I have uncovered so much evidence that shows this administration has purposefully dismantled our public safety immigration structures at the border,” Moody said in December.
